Shuttle service at Twin Falls County Fair improves visitor access
FILER, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — You may see these shuttles circulating around the Twin Falls County Fair over the next few days, and they’ve been improving people’s access to the fair for more than 15 years.
“We have this cart, and we have two 6-passenger carts that we provide now, that we can get people on, and if they’re having trouble getting around, and we’re there to take them, that’s a no charge,” said Jack Jardine of the Fair Foundation.
All you have to do is call them at 208-751-6966 and they’ll come and take you where you need to go. He says he doesn’t want anyone to feel like they can’t come to the fair.
“Because I’ve had friends and people say I can’t go to the Jack Fair, I just can’t walk, well it’s okay, we’ll go to that handicap parking lot, we’ll pick you up , we’ll take you to the Catholic food stand if that’s where you’re going to eat, and when you’re done, we’ll take you back to your car,” Jardine said.
He says services like the free shuttle service are what make the Twin Falls County Fair so magical.
“The Fair Trade Foundation believes this is Magic Valley, and that’s one of the things that makes it magical, doing things to help others and we see things and see people here that couldn’t go any other way. , and it’s heartbreaking and yet it’s so rewarding,” Jardine said.
He says he can’t wait to make sure you can attend the fair this year.
Every year something happens and what happens most often is that the people who might really use the elevator most often won’t let us know, and so we look and if we see something, we’ll stop and ask them,” Jardine said.
The shuttles run every day from the show from opening to closing.
