Northern offers 1,000 free train tickets to commuters
NORTHERN is offering commuters 1,000 free train journeys to work after their £1 flash sale earlier this month.
The rail operator, which serves cities in the north of England, is launching its “Big Commuter Giveaway” promotion to anyone who buys a daily, weekly or annual pass in September or October.
The giveaway plans to reward 1,000 of its subscribers with the cost of their commute in hopes of encouraging more people to take public transport to work.
Mark Powles, Customer and Commercial Director at Northern, said: “Following the success of our £1 flash sale, we wanted to give something back to our subscriber customers, who regularly come to work with us.
“And for those who haven’t purchased a season ticket before – but are facing rising gas prices and increased parking fees in the city center – we hope that the ability to recover the cost of their journey could convince them to switch from road to rail.
“We have made great progress over the last 12 to 18 months in terms of customer experience, thanks to our new fleet of modern trains and the renovation of stations. I’m sure new rail commuters will be pleasantly surprised.
Anyone who buys a subscription during this period will be entered into a raffle from which 500 people per month will recoup the cost of their subscription up to a value of £100.
