The organizers of this year’s Print Industry Creativity Awards have extended the entry deadline to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 14, citing requests from many potential applicants for the additional grace period.
The awards, which recognize and celebrate the achievement of excellence in the printing and graphic communications industry in general, have been open for nominations for about six weeks, but Peter Harper of Visual Connections, who organizes the awards, says that ‘They’ve had a flood of calls from companies asking for an extension.
“This is an ongoing challenge for rewards, but it has been magnified this year as market demand picks up as businesses continue to grapple with operating and staffing levels. Covid, ”he said.
“Many companies have told us that they intend to participate, but simply did not have time to complete the online registration form, while others are trying to find samples of work performed with only a small number of staff on site. are multiple challenges ”.
By revising the timelines for judging, a few extra weeks have been made available to those who still want to register – but Harper warns, “that’s it.”
“We have a full judging program to go through, and the winning entries must all be photographed for the production of the award books. So while we’re happy to be as accommodating as possible, there won’t be any more extensions. “
To submit work in the print or design categories, or to nominate a business or industry leader for recognition, applicants should visit www.printingawards.com.au without delay. Once the online entry is submitted, physical copies can be displayed, but must arrive at the Visual Connections Sydney office before the close of business on May 14th.
The prizes are organized by the Print & Visual Communications Association, whose members have the right to claim their first entry free of charge.
Prize judging will take place in Sydney in May, with winners announced at the PICA presentations in July – SA on Friday 2, Victoria on Friday 9, NSW Friday 16, Queensland on Friday 23 and WA on Saturday 31.
